The Reading Booster is for the K-5th grade child who is reading far below grade level and/or shows a lack of phonemic awareness or difficulty in spelling. For these students, their Individualized Learning Plan will include a combination of software programs and paper-based instruction to develop foundational reading skills in:
- Phonemic awareness
- Systematic phonics
- Automaticity and Fluency
- Listening and Reading Comprehension
- High-Frequency Vocabulary
How does this program differ from regular sessions?
In addition to using the reading software programs, the child will spend time each session working with a Tech2Learn Phonics Coach, using a systematic, multi-sensory approach to learn the 74 basic phonograms and 30 spelling rules that together explain 98% of English words.
How often should my child attend Reading Booster sessions?
Throughout the summer, students should strive to attend a minimum of 3 sessions per week.
When are sessions offered?
Summer Session: June through August
Monday-Thursday 10am-5pm and Friday 10am-1pm.
Sessions are 1 hour and start on the hour.
What is the cost?
Student Assessment ($100-$150 depending on grade level)
Reading Booster: Unlimited Summer Pass: $445.
The Summer Pass will allow the student to sign-up for unlimited Reading Booster sessions and regular Summer Sessions too! This will allow the student to continue to work on both Math and Reading over the summer.
The student can schedule up to 2 sessions on the same day.
